Japanese Company Registry Service
Do you need an official registry certificate of a Japanese company for litigation, a transaction, or due diligence?
It's surprisingly difficult to obtain one from outside Japan. We can obtain one for you from the Legal Affairs Bureau and deliver it wherever you are.
Why it is difficult
Commercial registry certificates are public documents in Japan, but the process is designed for people in Japan.
The online system and the counters of the Legal Affairs Bureau only operate in Japanese.
Fees must be paid in Japan, and foreign credit cards are generally not accepted.
Certificates are mailed to a Japanese address, so you need someone in Japan to receive and forward them.
Japanese companies are registered under their Japanese names. Matching an English name or website to the correct registration is often the hardest part.
What you receive
Certificate of registered matters of the company (登記事項証明書), issued by the Legal Affairs Bureau of Japan.
We will first email you a scanned PDF, and then send the original certificate to you by international mail or courier.
An English translation and an apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan can be arranged upon request. The apostille is quoted separately.
Fees
